Giannis Fermis
Yannis Fermis (real name: Ioannis Kagkas, 8 April 1921 - 26 January 1999) was a Greek actor. He was born in Smyrna in 1921. After the Asia Minor Catastrophe, he moved with his family to Larissa. He studied at the Drama School of the National Theatre. He pursued a career mainly in the field of musical theatre and revue and collaborated with many leading actors in the field. He took part in many tours in Greece and abroad. He also developed a rich activity in the field of cinema. He played characteristic roles in more than forty films and appeared in well-known television series. He died in Larissa from cancer and was buried there. His financial problems became a topic on television windows in 1998. He was helped by Thymios Karakatsanis.
