Fernando Hechavarria
HolguĂn, Cuba, September 16, 1955. Stage, film, and television actor, whose full name is Fernando Rogelio HechavarrĂa Gibert. He initially studied design, painting, and sculpture at the Provincial School of Visual Arts in HolguĂn, but graduated in 1976 from the National School of Art with a degree in Acting. Between 1978 and 1994, he worked with the Escambray Theatre Group, a community theatre project based in that mountainous region of the country. In 1975, he joined the theatre company El PĂșblico, directed by Carlos DĂaz. At the same time, he developed a successful television career, standing out in series, telenovelas, and teleplays. He made his film debut in the feature La tierra y el cielo, by Manuel Octavio GĂłmez. He received the National Theater Award in 2026.
